JOB TITLE: YOUTH ARTS COORDINATOR
INTRODUCTION
Our Integrated Youth Service are inviting applications from suitably
qualified / experienced youth work professionals to work alongside the
youth work staff to coordinate high-quality projects that develop
participants’ artistic and creative skills. Cherry Orchard Equine
Centre are seeking a motivated, energetic, people-person who wants to
make a positive change in the lives of young people through the arts.
In recent years, Cherry Orchard Equine Centre has broadened its
services to include stimulating Arts projects which provide a safe
space for young people to address social and mental health challenges,
build confidence, and develop teamwork and build capacity.
These Arts experiences where young people have been encouraged to
express themselves through creativity have proven to be both popular
and successful.
The Equine Centre now wishes to develop the potential of the Arts
within the Integrated Youth Service by engaging a part-time Youth Arts
Coordinator to implement the delivery of creative workshops and
projects as well as liaising with stakeholders and local residents.
We are a multipurpose organisation that provides important supports,
services and training courses for young people and adults in the
Cherry Orchard and Dublin * area.
Apart from horse-riding activities, we operate an Integrated Youth
Service that provides a safe and supportive environment for young
people to explore their world and challenge themselves.
The Equine Centre’s philosophy is based on concepts of justice and
equality. All young people are treated with respect, equality and
dignity, and the strength of the relationship between the young person
and the staff member is fundamental to our work.

SALARY: CDYS Youth Worker Pay Scale
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Develop and coordinate our youth arts programme
* Devise and facilitate creative workshops for young people.
* Build positive relationships with young people, stakeholders, and
the local community.
* Keep project records and write reports with project updates
* Liaise with and coordinate with external contractors including
artists, producers etc.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
* Applicants will hold a recognised qualification in youth work or
related field.
* Experience in developing/delivering arts projects in a youth group
setting with an emphasis on the arts practitioners is highly desirable
* Good communication skills with young people are a must as is the
ability to respond calmly and effectively to challenging situations.
* Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with young
people, the wider youth work team and the community is an important
aspect of the work.
* Weekends and early evening work can be required to meet the
availability and needs of young people.
* Good interpersonal skills, including ability to liaise with a wide
range of contacts and build and maintain effective working
relationships.
* Excellent standards of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to be proactive, use own initiative and work effectively
within a pressurised environment.
* Positive and flexible approach to team working.
* Good written communications skills, including ability to draft
summary information and correspondence.
* Good computer skills, including Word processing, Excel and
Internet.
* Excellent time-management skills are needed, as well as the
capacity to meet deadlines.
